We are always keen to have more active members at the JPEG and JBIG committees. This is a big commitment - typically at least 5-6 weeks each year for an expert in image compression, with funding needed for travel and accommodation in different continents. In return, you can be sure that you are contributing to one of the key standards areas for support of today's global information infrastructure. Membership is normally via either one of ITU-T's member organisations, or via your national standards body. Some links to members of the various national committees who send delegates to ISO/IEC SC29 WG1 - JPEG / JBIG are shown below. Please remember that all of these are busy people - only contact them if you are interested in joining JPEG / JBIG - not just to ask them for general JPEG / JBIG information:
